Ms. Baxley's paintings are a sophisticated juxtaposition of natural and idealized forms, rendered in compassionate hues and enlivening textures, creating spirited abstractions of the artist's impressions and memories from her life and the natural world. Taking inspiration from modernists like Matisse and Oriental decorative sensibilities, her new works are spirited exercises in balancing colors and compositions that satisfy the eye and thereby nurture the soul.

For this exhibit, Arcadia Cafe is partnering with Coleman Schedler Fine Art of Fairfield, Conn. Founded in 2007, Coleman Schedler Fine Art represents ten fine contemporary artists and serves private collectors and professional designers with on site consultations and from its appointment-only gallery.
