This delightful exhibition will feature a range of colorful and striking prints from this very talented local Connecticut artist on display at Arcadia Cafe for the months of September and October 2008. Yvonne Boogaert is a native of Manhattan who currently lives in Fairfield County Connecticut. Her work is playful and colorful using symmetry and pattern with flora and fauna motifs. Her sophisticated palette is appealing and each piece is meticulously crafted and composed. A graduate of both the Rhode Island School of Design and the School of Museum of the Fine Arts, Boogaert's background in abstract sculpture, architecture, and garden design influences her work, as does her lighthearted sense of humor, and her travels from Barcelona to New Zealand and right here in the New York metropolitan area. Ms. Boogaert has participated in many exhibitions, including several in Fairfield County. She has been frequent contributor at the Greenwich Council's Art on The Avenue.
Arcadia Cafe is more than a coffee shop - it is an art gallery, meeting place, jazz nightclub, poetry place, comedy shop, etc. Located in the heart of historic Old Greenwich, Conn., Arcadia is owned and managed by Jenny Lawton and Rob and Amy Guerrieri, all Old Greenwich residents.
