Old Greenwich resident and artist SONJA BLOM will have a month-long photography exhibit entitled "Old Greenwich Meets New York," a series of photographs highlighting each of these spectacular venues, at Arcadia Coffee Company in Old Greenwich, Conn.
Sonja Blom is a native of The Netherlands, born in Breukelen, the town Brooklyn is named after. Ms. Blom moved to Old Greenwich in 2002 along with her husband and children. She still continues to travel the world frequently and takes her camera everywhere she goes! Her work is diverse using black and white and color, portraits and landscape, cityscapes (from Italy to Chile and everything in between), and country scenery. Blom works with an SRL camera, which means that all photos are in digital format. The photos on display in the Arcadia exhibit were all custom printed in her native Netherlands to achieve specific sizes and extremely vivid images. Ms. Blom recently won a photography award in the Greenwich Magazine photography contest. She is also active in the community, volunteering for the Greenwich Arts Council, and this spring, will co-chair the prestigious Arts on The Avenue in Greenwich.
