Emily Felger with "County Fair" Photography Exhibit

OPENING SEPTEMBER 10 -- 4 PM TO 6 PM
On display September 3 through September 30

Emily Felger grew up in Old Greenwich, Conn. She is currently a senior at the School of Visual Arts in New York. The exhibit at Arcadia Coffee Company is Ms. Felger's first solo exhibition. The color photographs are taken at night at county fairs, mostly at the Erie County Fair in Hamburg, N.Y., and the Danbury County Fair in Danbury, Conn. Both fairs are run by James E. Strates Shows, the last rail-based carnival midway in America.

"I'm excited to have my first solo show at Arcadia," said Ms. Felger. "It is especially meaningful as I grew up in Old Greenwich and was inspired by the artful nature of the town." When talking about her photographs of county fairs, Ms. Felger noted, "I love taking photos at night - the bright lights of the carnivals really stand out against the dark of the night sky."
