Karen Chandler's paintings were shown at Arcadia in November 2005
Karen Chandler uses oil paints to create her moody landscapes and scenery. Her goal as an artist is to bring people, places and ideas to life. Karen studied at New York's School of Visual Arts and the New York Institute of Technology as well as the Stevenson Academy of Traditional Painting and in private studies with a professional illustrator. She has had exhibitions throughout New York, California, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C. Her work is in several private collections, as well as the Galaxy Art Gallery at Kennedy Space Center and the Air Force Art Collection. She also is affiliated with the NASA Space Art Program, the Air Force Art Program and the Society of Illustrators. As an illustrator, Karen works with most of the major book publishers including Ballantine, Bantam, Berkley, Dell, Golden Books, Houghton Mifflin, Modern Media Ventures, Newsweek Books, Puffin Books, Random House, Inc., Simon & Schuster, Scholastic, Turtle Books and Zebra. She also works with Price Waterhouse, and the New York Institute of Technology.
